We were surprised to find out that we were pregnant in May 2023 with what we later discovered was a precious girl. We had saved the name Lottie Moon (for the missionary and after my grandfather, “Moon” Mullins) for her. But at our 20-week anatomy scan, we found out that she had several abnormalities with her heart, and weeks later, it was confirmed that she indeed had a rare, fatal condition called Trisomy 13. On January 11, 2024, our Lottie was born… crying, beautiful, and with a full head of auburn hair like her Daddy’s. She cried for almost an hour straight and had something to say! It aligned with how active she was in Calli’s belly. For the last half of her life, she was so peaceful, as she was held by and cherished by her family and her grandmothers. At 100 minutes, she met her Creator and was healed forever. We grieve her loss here so much but long for heaven all the more, when we are united with her in a place where no sadness or pain exist. She changed us for the better and for good. We love you, Lottie Marvin!
