At our 20-week anatomy scan in September of 2021, we learned that our baby girl, Hope Marie, had significant birth defects and IUGR.
After meeting with specialists, multiple scans, tests and lots of tearful prayers, we learned that Hope had a chromosomal abnormality called triploidy.
Our chances of her making it to term were unlikely. We were devastated.
We decided that if Hope’s life would be shorter than we would have ever hoped or dreamed we would cherish what time we did have.
For the next 3 months, through waves of deep anticipatory grief, countless appointments and so much heartache and fear, we felt the Lord so evidently near.
Hope was resilient, beating so many odds. She was born sleeping on January 4, 2022 at 37 weeks. She was so perfect. We are so thankful for the time we were given with her.
PAYING IT FORWARD
As soon as we connected with Abel Speaks we were able to find joy in our sorrow and were reminded that we weren’t alone. The support and community we found has been such a blessing to us.
For Hope’s second birthday, we would love to support Abel Speaks by raising money for so that other families walking this road can know they are not alone and there can be joy in the midst of sorrow.
By faith, Hope still speaks!
